Thanks, Ian; I did, and nope.  I'm getting 2.3-2.5 MB/s on this; I'm
having to look hard just to see the impact at all.

Even the DB disk is only rarely over 50% busy; (this particular server
has its DB on one mirrored LUN) If I were pegging that spindle much of
the time, I'd at least be able to see my bottleneck.  Grumble.

Once this restore completes, I'll do experiments with different file
sizes.  I sure hope that's what's going on.  Ick.
