I have a test server with TSM 6.1.1.0 (Linux Centos). It did run fine for a short while, but then suddenly all database backup tapes started to get the date 11/30/2047 00:00:00. This causes the "delete volhist type=dbb todate=-3" to fail since 2047 isn't passed (yet).
There is a flash on this problem. Flash 4 Jun, 2009: Tivoli Storage Manager V6.1.1 fixpack release may incorrectly record the "Date/Time" field for the volume history file <http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=1019&context=SSSQWC&context=SSGSG7&dc=D600&uid=swg21388750&loc=en_US&cs=UTF-8&lang=en> The flash isn't very informative. My question is how do I remove the database backup tapes. Right now the server is down because the log went full when all available tapes got stuck with "2047" status. I guess I can get some extra log at get the server to start, but it will soon run out of log again if I can't get the db backups going.
