Hi, One thing that you need to have in your mind before you start with backupset is that, you are not flexible with the media anymore. As soon you have create your Backupset with the TOC, you can change to any other media and if you put it on LTO-4 tapes then will you need to keep a LTO-4 drive forever until you can trash the tape. Your are more flexible with export node and also just run a reguler backup/archive backup so you can migrate from one media type to another.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I should have stated this at first, but the data is 2.5TB and about 2 million objects. They also want the data on-line for now, but they want a copy just in case something gets deleted. The MC route is the best way. Even if you go over IP, you still won't be able to export the data. It just saves you from having to create a separate pool, in this case. Unfortunately, there is no "GENERATE BACKUPSETTOC" for NAS backups on TSM, so you'll have to keep that around also. (Because you know they will want to browse the contents 7.01 years from now!) Legal said we have to so we will. Because this is a Filer attached to a library I see that backup sets and exports are not supported. This leaves me with the choice of creating a MC for this backup.
