We run 'move data' processes on 'filling' tapes to reduce the percent migratable value for our virtual tape pools. This allows us to allocate fewer volumes to the storage pools.

Currently we have the following admin processes running on a daily basis: Delete volhist Expire inventory Reclaimation Migration Is there anything we are missing? If there are thousands of files backed up via TSM which will stay on the backup tapes in the library for a number of years probably without being required for a restore, is there a way of moving these files to tapes which can then be checked out of the library, thereby freeing up slots in the library for more scratch tapes?
