Hello, I am facing a very strange situation:
We have archived using TSM about 270 of data in past.Now when we try to retrieve the data, the retrieve process runs for some hours approx 3.5 hrs,then without transferring a file dsmc process crashes with error ANS1899I ***** Examined 4,625,000 files ***** ANS1899I ***** Examined 4,626,000 files ***** ANS1899I ***** Examined 4,627,000 files ***** ANS1030E The operating system refused a TSM request for memory allocation. Though system has 16Gb of memory.We have also used diskcache method but it seems the issue is not in memory but somewhere else as o/p of vmstat shows only 4 GB of memory is used: [r...@tkx010 ~]# vmstat 10 procs -----------memory---------- ---swap-- -----io---- --system-- ----cpu---- 1 0 0 4363868 1046400 1511080 0 0 0 136 1054 74 25 0 75 0 1 0 0 4363500 1046400 1511080 0 0 0 32 1040 212 25 1 74 0 1 0 0 4363748 1046400 1511080 0 0 0 24 1050 97 25 0 75 0 1 0 0 4363876 1046400 1511080 0 0 0 130 1050 134 25 0 75 0 1 0 0 4363676 1046400 1511080 0 0 0 42 1045 215 25 1 74 0 0 0 0 4381836 1046400 1511080 0 0 0 24 1036 71 25 0 75 0 0 0 0 8503548 1046400 1511080 0 0 0 140 1071 180 0 1 99 0 0 0 0 8503308 1046400 1511080 0 0 0 50 1039 194 0 1 99 0 My client is Linux machine Linux tkx010 2.6.9-67.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Nov 7 13:56:44 EST 2007 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux TSM Client=5.4.1.0 TSM Server=5.4.2.0 TSM server and Linux Client both are installed on same machine. Can someone help? One more question:Is it true that that all TSM Unix clients are 32 bits applications and could not address more than 4GB of memory? Experts please reply asap. -- Best Regards Ashish Sharma ST Microelectronics Ltd. 919717003853
