No rules, as such. However, I general convention I have used generally surrounds, OS/Application + Retention size + "_DOM" or "_POL" or "_MC".
For example and AIX, with extra long retention would be "AIX_XL_DOM" or "AIX-XL-DOM", or a domain for Clinical Applications "CLINICAL_APP_DOM". Then the Policy, and MC would be "AIX-XL-POL" then "AIX-XL-MC".
