hello, environment: windows 2000, tsm 5.2.4
after stopping tsm server for canceling a "deadlock" situation (there was move data and backup stgp for the same big file) and tsm processes do not work for almost 1 hour, the tsm server restart hang. >> dsmserv ... ANR0306I Recovery log volume mount in progress. ANR0285I Database page shadowing started using file dbpgshdw.bdt. (not valid!!) ANR0353I Recovery log analysis pass in progress. ANR0354I Recovery log redo pass in progress. ANR0355I Recovery log undo pass in progress. at this point the tsm server start process hangs for almost 30 minutes, the normal starttime about 2-3 minutes (8gb database, 6 gb log). so i canceled the dsmserv process (perhaps i better wait longer before doing this) and i decide to define new logvols with dsmfmt, but extend log failed. which is the right way to define new logvolumes without reformat also the dbvols? or do i need to restore from tsm database backup? , from the original dbvols an logvols there are now only the original dbvols left. please help if you have some experiences about this subject. with best regards stefan savoric
