Bill, You didn't specify which model of 2109 so I'm assuming that it is a F16. Even if it is a different switch I bet the commands are the same. The switches have several different userids - root, admin, factory and user. Maybe root or factory are still set to the defaults. So, try those but I wouldn't use the web interface. Either telnet to the switch or connect to its serial port.
Since these are really Brocade switches, I think you will have better luck at their site. Try going to the link below and clicking on either the "Fabric Manager application and user's guide" or "Software documentation" link. You'll be re-directed to the IBM/Brocade site. The Fabric O/S manuals may have a section on how to reset forgotten passwords. http://www-304.ibm.com/jct03004c/servers/storage/support/san/2109f16/installing.html Good luck, Rick Saylor Austin Community College At 03:31 PM 12/15/2006, you wrote:
I have a client that has their 3590 drives connected to an IBM2109 switch...only problem is that the person who knew the admin password to the switch is no longer there and they dont' have any up to date contact information for him. They are upgrading to the new TS1120 drives. Does anyone know/remember if there is a way to reset the admin password back to the default of 'password'? I'm still searching IBM's site, but most of the links for those older switches fail. Thanks if anyone is able to help out.... Bill Boyer >Select * from USERS where CLUE>0 0 rows returned
