Here is some additional information:

The overwhelming majority of servers fall in 2 management classes.
Databases and utility servers with 9 day retention and file servers with
90 day retention.

The properties of the classes are:

versions data exist - nolimit
versions data deleted - 90
retain extra versions - 90
retain only version - 90

(for the 9 day retention, change 90 to 9).

Backups of databases and incrementals of everything else are run
nightly.
