Dirk, Always start dsmcad from inittab like this:
Cad:2345:once:/usr/bin/dsmcad Be sure to have an entry MANAGEDSERVICES WEBCLIENT SCHEDULE in the dsm.sys file. Works for me (approx. 15 Linux systems in TSM). Met vriendelijke groet, With kind regards, Richard van Denzel. -----Original Message----- From: ADSM: Dist Stor Manager [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Dirk Kastens Sent: woensdag 8 maart 2006 9:44 To: ADSM-L@VM.MARIST.EDU Subject: linux dsmcad problem Hi, TSM 5.3.2.3 server TSM 5.3.2.0 client on redhat linux I start the dsmcad process with the rc.d script from the technote. The problem is that the schedule only works once. After the backup is finished the client scheduler stops but never gets called again, although the dsmcad process is still running. During the next backup period the tsm server says that the session with the client timed out. The last entry in the dsmsched.log is: 03/07/2006 00:52:31 Scheduler has been stopped. The last entry in the dsmwebcl.log is: 03/07/2006 00:52:32 (dsmcad) Waiting to be contacted by the server. But nothing happens. When I restart the dsmcad during the backup period, the backup immediately starts: 03/07/2006 22:52:53 (dsmcad) Dsmcad is working in Schedule mode. 03/07/2006 22:52:53 (dsmcad) Command will be executed in 1 minute. 03/07/2006 22:52:53 (dsmcad) Time remaining until execution: Executing scheduled command now. Any ideas? -- Regards, Dirk Kastens Universitaet Osnabrueck, Rechenzentrum (Computer Center) Albrechtstr. 28, 49069 Osnabrueck, Germany Tel.: +49-541-969-2347, FAX: -2470
