If you want to BMR your linux system have a look at http://www.mkcdrec.org/ This tool has support for TSM. I'm going to test it in the near future - if anyone is interested I'll post my findings.

You may try to create a live CD with TSM BA client embedded (or plug hard disk on another machine), mount the partition you want to restore of the original hard disk, and restore to the mount point you choose.
