Hi Geoff, Not sure you mean by "version 5.3 not having web access".
The old admin GUI doesn't work (actually you CAN install the old 5.2 admin GUI now with the special patch if you want, but that will not be provided in future releases). But anybody you grant access to can access the ISC via a browser. So it's just a matter of retraining to find the info in a different place. The clients we have that show "in progress" are uniformly failures. The client starts the backup, but dies a peculiar death, or (more commonly) the scheduler hangs up so that it never reports back to the server, so the server never reports the change in status. Now if you have a client that completes normally, but the server still says "in progress", that's probably a bug; check the level of the client code, it's probably old. For those that have issues, tickets are routed to those administrators for investigation. With version 5.3 not having web access what are others using that will allow this late night ongoing monitoring? Also here is a question as it relates to how the 5.2 web interface displays the backup status. For those servers that show "In Progress" some never revert to Completed. Can anyone explain the reason for this anomaly? Thanks, Geoff Gill TSM Administrator SAIC M/S-G1b (858)826-4062 Email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> [EMAIL PROTECTED]
