I'm assuming this is exchange 2003.

A couple of things.

Check your dsierror.log in the tdpexchange directory for any additional
information.
Is this a cluster environment ?

Verify that your opt file in the tdpexchange directory has the
following:

NOdename "nodename TSM server has registered"
TCPServeraddress "TCP server address"
CLUSTERnode "yes or no"
COMPRESSIon Off
PASSWORDAccess Generate
COMMMethod TCPip
TCPPort 1500
TCPWindowsize 63
TCPBuffSize 32
SCHEDMODE Polling
INCLUDE * exchange_st

I also launch mine from a cmd file because we are in a cluster
environment.

tdpexc /tsmoptfile="C:\program files\tivoli\tsm\tdpexchange\dsm.opt"
/excserver="exchange instance name"

Subject: TDP for Exchange problem

I have a problem with my TDP for exchange installation.

When i start the TDP agent i get this error message:

ACN5237E Unable to communicate with the Microsoft Exchange Server.

The Exchange serve IS installed and is working fine.

I first thought that it was an API error in the Exchange server, but
when i use NTbackup it manages to back up the exchange server just fine.
So i think the problem is with the TDP agent.

I would be grateful for any thoughts on this?

Many Thanks
Nicolas Muurmans
