Hi Ruth, It's nice to hear from you. We were in Ithaca recently buying more unfinished furniture at the unfinished furniture store downtown. I love that place.
Back to work topics... We have put full pressure on Microsoft for this. They told me this will be the first hotfix for SQL Server 2005, so I am the guinea pig. They also said that they are being very picky with SQL Server 2005 on which bugs they will put out a hotfix for. I relayed to them that this is one of those bugs that will need the hotfix because it causes people to not be able to back up their brand new SQL Server 2005 database! I received an email yesterday that the "official" hotfix has been sent to development. I expect to hear from them before the end of the week. Once I have the hotfix, and tested it, I will post to ADSM-L and also place the IA64 version on the FTP Server. I am estimating 1-2 weeks, but since I don't have control over Microsoft resources, I can not be sure of that estimate. Do you have an estimate how long it'll be before the IA64 MS hotfix and patch make their way into production (a couple of weeks, months)? I'm just trying to plan for a new IA64 SQL 2005 deployment (which I was hoping to roll out next week). Also, is there any support for X64 platforms? Thanks. --Ruth Mitchell Cornell Theory Center -----Original Message----- From: ADSM: Dist Stor Manager [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Del Hoobler Sent: Tuesday, November 08, 2005 8:47 PM To: ADSM-L@VM.MARIST.EDU Subject: [ADSM-L] Data Protection for SQL 5.2.1.03 - Adds SQL Server 2005 Support Who: Data Protection for SQL customers running on Microsoft SQL Server 2005 What: Yesterday, Microsoft officially launched SQL Server 2005.
