Geoff - Out of curiousity, you might try running an expire with
SKipdirs=Yes,
and get a sense of whether time is being consumed in
directories

Interesting because I did notice the same thing with expire inventory. I did see it still running about 10pm and cancelled it but it did not cancel till 3 am. Mighty weird if you ask me. Normally it finishes about 3PM.
