Eric, These are the exact symptoms that happen when the SQL Server hasn't completed the format. Is this LANFREE my chance? If so, you need to change the COMMTIMEOUT on the Storage Agent as well. If not, I recommend bumping up the COMMTIMEOUT value to something even higher to see if it resolves the problem. If not, a Data Protection for SQL trace will help the IBM Service team determine where the problem is... but... I really think this is the problem.
