I'm only responding because no on else has. Not because I no for sure that this will work. However, I don't believe you can use a database backup to a tape for this. You may be able to use a backup of the db to a file device class on a shared drive somewhere. Then a restore from there. Still, I've never done this so maybe someone else will point out that this will not work.
I have been in the situation where we switched from a Unix TSM server to a Windows one for obviouse reasons (grin). Anyway, we peformed node exports exports or we just cut the nodes over to the new system. Once everyone was on the new system we left it around for a while and the finally shut it down.
