Not in this situation. This is a Cyrus email system using imap. *ALL* user mailboxes are in /var/spool/imap and /../imap2 and so on. These are permanent files.
The directory in the error message contains over 22K files. This directory generally contains only files that are discarded once they are spooled to whatever destination they're headed for.
