As other people have noted, processor counts are not stored in the TSM
database. I did some experiments with obtaining processor counts by
using the TSM central scheduler to run commands that exited with a
return code equal to the number of installed processors. If you are
interested in this approach I can send you a copy of an e-mail I
wrote summarizing the results of my experiments. My management decided
to ask the client system administrators rather than use the central
scheduler. A lot of our client administrators have never really thought
about the security implications of the TSM scheduler facility. It
seemed politically inexpedient to carry out a conspicuous demonstration
of the the versatility of the scheduling mechanism.
