that is an OS type issue... just create some form of network file system mounted up on your server, create the device class of type FILE pointing to that area, then use that device class to do your DB backup to... Ugh... I'm not the windows type person but say you have a K: disk that is really over on another server (what I'd call an NFS mount in the Unix world) then inside TSM just do a "def dev REMOTEDSK devtype=file dir=K:\" then just do your "backup db t=f s=y dev=remotedsk" Dwight E.
