Hi Christopher! A q vol only returns storagepool volumes. A scratch tapes are not storagepool volumes. As soon as TSM has written data to them, they become storagepool volumes. Normally you will only see volumes in a full, fillling or a pending state. As far as I know, the empty state you will only see for empty disk or file volumes, which you pre-allocate.
