TSMer's I've read lots of good stuff in the Archives about this, but none of them seem to actually answer my problem.
Here's the scoop: Just switched from Windows 2000 server running 5.1.7.0 to a 2003 Server running 5.2.1.0 It was a net new server and new installation of TSM. We did not migrate anything, just moved all the clients to a new TSM server. Since then, more often than not, but not always, I have 7 clients that receive this error message every 30 seconds for one hour while they are supposed to be backing up. ANR0480W Session 331 for node NT0821I () terminated - connection with client severed. The 7 clients did not have problems previously. The 7 clients will occasionally back up successfully. The 7 clients are located at 3 different physical locations. The 7 clients are all WinNT 4, SP6 (But I have other clients with this version who are fine) The 7 clients have different levels of TSM Client Code: 4.1.0.0, 5.1.5.0, 5.1.6.7 Some of the clients backup at 8:00 pm, some at 11:00 pm, some at midnight, and some at 1:00 am. 133 other client backups run successfully at times ranging from 6:00 pm util 3:00 am. None of the clients backup directly to tape. Disk storage pools do not overflow during the backup window. We're not running out of available sessions. The dsmerror logs have these errors, but a lot of my clients report these errors: ConsoleEventHandler(): Process Detached. ConsoleEventHandler(): Caught Logoff console event. The dsmsched.log sometimes will have this entry as the last entry in the log (occurs when the backup should start) TCP/IP accepted connection from server. Otherwise it's just Waiting to be contacted by server. I cannot find any errors in the activity log that indicate a different problem. What's up? thanks for your help!
