My co-workers and I have been researching the possibility of migrating our TSM server from OS/390 to mainframe Linux. We have found a number of IBM conference presentations indicating that the mainframe Linux TSM server supports only tape drives attached by means of the Fibre Channel Protocol. On the face of it, this implies that ESCON-attached 3590 drives will not be supported. Is this a correct interpretation of IBM's statements on device support?
