We use the Fujifilm tapes and have great luck with them, our library is an ADIC Scalar 1000 (ADIC Scalar 100 is what the IBM 3583 is in real life), our drives are IBM 3580 drives. We tried the Graham and the Imation, but found Fuji seems to be the most compatible.

Sometime back we had to do a microcode upgrade AND replace all the internal slots in the library because evidently the NON-IBM Brand LTOs are slightly different in size, enough so the tapes drug and the picker had problems pulling them out due to additional drag. This was the IBM solution. This implies, at least to me, that IBM may want to keep to tighter tolerances than are written in the standard for LTOs. Or the 'real standard' and the 'published standard' for the tape cartridges may be different as they are implemented. Standards are good. Everyone should have 2 or 3 :) Actually standards, unless written exceptionally well, are subject to interpretation. Take a look at my favorite, the RS-232 standard :) that has been around longer than I have been in the computing field. > -----Original Message----- > From: Anderson F.
