Note that this happens (actually used to happen) when your onsite copy is still on disk (even if your disk storage pool isn't cached).
Are the directories (or some of them) on disk? TSM will use the onsite disk copy to reclaim the offsite copy and used to do this very inefficiently. What server level are you running? This is fixed somewhere around 5.1.6. -----Original Message----- From: Debi Randolph [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: August 5, 2003 1:36 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Reclaimation of Copy Dirs Cache Migrated Files is set to NO on the DISKDIRS pool. We've had multiple discussions on this list about slow copy pool reclamations; a common culprit is a cached disk pool, which forces TSM to use the copies of files still existing in your disk pool, but only *one at a time*, rather than the batched file moves that take place from a primary tape pool volumes to copy tape pool volumes. If this is your problem, you have two alteratives: turn caching off on the disk pool, or do a daily MOVE DATA from disk pool volumes to your primary tape pool prior to copy pool reclamation. -- Mark Stapleton ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Berbee Information Networks Office 262.521.5627 ******************* N O T I C E ******************* The information contained in this e-mail, and in any accompanying documents, may constitute confidential and/or legally privileged information.
