TDP agents are API clients and use the version of dsm.sys located in the /usr/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin directory. What I normally do is create a link to the /usr/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin/dsm.sys file in the api/bin or api/bin64 directory. That way I only have to maintain a single copy of the DSM.SYS file. I then create multiple server stanzas for different nodenames. For the TDP the server stanza pointed to by the DSM.OPT file which is pointed to by the TDPO_OPTFILE parameter should have passwordaccess prompt, or no passwordacess line. The default is PROMPT. I just set up 2 servers today with the 5.2 version.
You also need to link to the /usr/lib/libobk64.a file in the $ORACLE_HOME/lib directory for each different instance/version you have installed. That little piece took me a couple hours to figure out today. Live and learn! I also have an Oracle 8 instance and use the Oracle TDP v2. The Oracle TDP v2 works fine and the tdpo.opt is located /usr/tivoli/tsm/client/oracle/bin/. I can not get the tdpoconf password for v5.2 to set the password. I have looked at the redbook for setting password and point to the dsm.opt and use the dsm.sys for reference for the tdpo.opt files. When I run /usr/tivoli/tsm/client/oracle/bin/tdpoconf password for the old TDP v2 the password is set. I have tried passwordaccess prompted When I try to set the password for the new v5.2 here is what happens.
