We found through documentation and experimentation, the basics of restores for:
Win2K - install raid software, etc as needed, install a bare OS and TSM client, restore data, then restore the system state, reboot and join the domain. NT - install raid software, etc as needed, install a bare OS into a different directory than usual (like c:\WINNTDR ) and the TSM client. Restore all the data, then the system state, reboot. Reboot and join the domain. Once connected and it is running, remove the c:\WINNTDR directory and all contents. This does not restore all the normally logged in user profile kind of information, but it gets the machine up. I am looking forward to hearing / seeing others suggestions on how they do it and / or how to improve this technique. > -----Original Message----- > From: Ruth Peters [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Wednesday, May 28, 2003 10:37 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: TSM WinNT Restore Procedures > > Hi TSM-ers, > My TSM server is AIX 5.2.1 with TSM 5.1.6.3 > My NT Client is 4.0 with Service Pack 5&6 with TSM 5.1.5.0 > > I know this issue has come across the board before, however I need to > revisit > it.
