Please contact your Tivoli Account Rep and tell them everything you are
feeling.

If more people do this, then hopefully the development folk will get the
message, understand the pain and provide more frequent updated supported
kernels.

BTW, I think the longer term strategy will be RHAS - which does make
sense, since it has a longer life cycle than the workstation versions.

I too have TSM running on a RH 7.3 system - but I'm using the RH72 kernel
so that I can load the TSM device driver and talk to some tape hardware.
If you just want to run TSM with disk or file pools, than you really only
need to obey the glibc requirements (from my experience anyway).
Naturally, you may be "unsupported" if you do not run the versions as per
the release notes - contact the support centre if you are unsure.

I have been able to install the 5.1.5 server on Redhat 9 (yesterday, hence
my post about the missing portions of the install).

The part that gets installed seems to work - so far.
