I cannot answer your question why you are not seeing the imported files.
You
just have to take in consideration that cross platform import export is
not
supported...

(/var). Ran the EXPORT:

BACKGROUND processed 2823 items for a total of 13,583,251,182 bytes with a
completion state of SUCCESS at 18:19:50.
Ran the IMPORT:
03/25/03 16:12:57 ANR2017I Administrator ZFORRAY issued command:
IMPORT NODE mail1.vcu.edu FILESPACE=/var DEVCLASS=3494ATL
VOLUMENAMES=041212,041453 FILEDATA=BACKUP PREVIEW=NO DATES=ABSOLUTE
REPLACEDEFS=NO MERGEFILESPACES=YES
Got back:
03/25/03 16:52:22 ANR0986I Process 199 for IMPORT NODE running in the
BACKGROUND processed 2822 items for a total of 13,583,251,079 bytes with a
completion state of SUCCESS at 16:52:22.
Yet a "Q BACKUP -ina /var/*" on the AIX TSM server does not show the old
files just IMPORTED ?
