Hi Ricky, what do you want to do? Register some additional nodes? Then you've got to buy new licenses. They are now sold on a per cpu base and the price depends if you are using the base version of TSM or the extended version and your company's Passport Advantage level at IBM. Lower level customers (i.e. level A) with less IBM software licenses paid per year pay more than customers that buy a lot of IBM software licenses. But even in the lowest category 391 pounds are a lot of money. We don't sell TSM licenses at such a high price... :-)
If you wan't to keep the number of registered nodes by adding and deleting some nodes then you can do that. Just count the number of CPUs from the nodes you are deleting and register new nodes to the extend of that number. TSM licensing is a very complex theme and everytime IBM changes the procedures there are many open questions that nobody can/will answer. In theory everything seems to be very easy but in reality there are a lot of hooks and problems. Talk to 5 different people at IBM and you will get 7 different answers... But at least you can say "Hey, that is what you (IBM) told me..." :-) Mit freundlichen Grüßen, Met vriendelijke groeten, With best regards, Bien amicalement, CU/2, Dirk Billerbeck Dirk Billerbeck CC CompuNet AG & Co. oHG Enterprise Computing Solutions Am Jaegersberg 20, 24161 Altenholz (Kiel), Germany Phone: +49 (0) 431 / 3609 - 117, Fax: +49 (0) 431 / 3609 - 190, Internet: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This email is confidential.
