Hi Mani, You're speaking from 400Gb DB2 data that should be stored on a 100 Gb disk : considering the fact that TSM client sends an info specifiying how much data it has to write to the server before really sending the data, TSM server will automatically choose a pool having appropriate sizing : in our case, the next pool in your hierarchy : the tape ! My advice would be to increase the size of your disk pool to have it bigger than 400 Mb. Concerning question # 2 : of course backup on disk is faster, but sooner or later you will have to move that data to tape, to free your disk for the next backup, and then you'll loose all the benefit of backuping directly to disk ... If you are time constrained, you probably should try to initiate parallel backup using two drives concurrently ! Hope it helped ... Cheers.

Yesterday I have changed 400Gb backup destination to disk storage pool of size 100Gb with unlimited filesize and after I did validation and activation of policyset. And I am using tape storage pool as next storage pool. My problem, 1)still my production node 400Gb backs up data to tape storage pool and why its not going to disk storage pool. 2)will it going to save anytime for me if it copies to diskpools. pls note: recently we have migrated from Informix to DB2. thanks and regards mani. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++++++++ This electronic mail transmission contains information from Joy Mining Machinery which is confidential, and is intended only for the use of the proper addressee.
