Hi guys, I have very similar problem with TDPO 2.2.1, except that I do not get error messages, but rman coredumps. My TSM server is 5.1.5.4 on AIX 5.1 and client is 5.1 on AIX 5.1. All 32 bits. According to my investigations, there is something wrong with using libobk.a by rman. Rman coredumps when trying to use this library with "allocate chanel" command. Could you please share info about solution when you find some?
One of thing which confuses me is, that according to TDPO manual, you should set passwordaccess to prompt, not to generate. API clients usualy require passwordaccess set to generate. TSM server is 4.2.2.10. The client is a new setup. When DBA tries to do a test backup with his RMAN script, he gets the following error messages: ----------------- RMAN-03007: retryable error occurred during execution of command: allocate RMAN-10035: exception raised in RPC: ORA-19554: error allocating device, device type: SBT_TAPE, device name: ORA-19557: device error, device type: SBT_TAPE, device name: ORA-19511: Unknown SBT error code = 0, errno = 0 ------------------------------ I have run "tdpoconf showenv" and all looks good. We have slightly earlier versions of Oracle and TDPO on other AIX machines and it runs o.k. Just copied RMAN script to this machine and touched up for this node. Have checked a few things and all looks o.k. Any suggestions? Thanks, David B.
