Hussein, I assume you are using Data Protection for Exchange (either version 2.2.0 or 5.1.5).
If you take the defaults when performing the restores, this is done automatically for you. That is: "/ERASEXSISTING=NO" (for Exchange 5.5) "/RECOVer=APPLYALLlogs" (for Exchange 2000) on the restore command. This will restore all backed up logs and apply all restored logs as well as any logs that currently exist on the server. If you specify "/ERASEXSISTING=YES" (for Exchange 5.5) "/RECOVer=APPLYRESToredlogs"" (for Exchange 2000) then it will NOT apply the latest logs. It will only apply those logs included in the backup. When performing these restores through the GUI, there are checkboxes that indicate these values.
