I am confused with the Subject of this item. Is there a relationship
between Veritas's BMR and CA's Brightstore Resource Manager for TSM? I
thought that CA's BRM not BMR is a graphical reporting tool that reports on
the condition of TSM and its resources and has nothing to do with Bare Metal
Restore.

I have no first-hand experience with BMR, but last I heard, it worked fine
with TSM. We even fixed an APAR (IC34296) in the 4.2.3 and 5.1.5 releases
that impacted BMR.

if it's true it's typical of competing software vendors.

Lisa, at least the CA people are smart enough to know when they are
beat.

I had a customer here in the Bay Area call VERITAS to have a
presentation on BMR. The response from VERITAS was that the only way
this customer could use BMR is if they moved off TSM and used NetBackup
exclusively.

Has anyone else experienced this? I thought VERITAS was going to push
this product's integration with TSM, not use the purchase of The Kernel
Group to pouch TSM accounts!
