try putting one of the following 2 entries into your dsm.opt file:
EXCLUDE NDS:.....*License*
OR
EXCLUDE.DIR "NDS:.O=TSM.NLS:Publisher=Novell+NLS:Product
=NetWare 5 Conn SCL+NLS:Version=510"
EXCLUDE.DIR "NDS:.O=TSM.NLS:Publisher=Novell+NLS:Product
=NetWare 5 Server+NLS:Version=510"

Subject: How to exclude NDS License object
I am running TSM version 5.1.0 on a Windows 2000 server. When I try to
backup Novell Directory Services tree on my Netware 5.1 server, it fails.
The error log says that the License object cannot be accessed. Does anyone
know how to exclude NDS license objects from backup? I also see following
error in the error log:
10/26/2002 22:03:04 ANS1301E Server detected system error
and the backup job fails.
I have added following line in the dsm.opt file for NDS backup:
DOMAIN ALL-LOCAL NDS
