Tim, TDP Oracle 2.1.0.9 is a pretty old version of TDP Oracle - there was not real robust logging in that version. A few questions: Is this your only backup that is failing? How about TSM API logging? Some of TDP Oracle log events get logged to the API log file.
In the mean time try this: 'ENV=(DSMO_DEBUG=49)'; This will cause TDP Oracle to trace to the sbtio.log file located in the Oracle target db's 'bdump' directory. You can try to analyze this trace file or email it to me and I will take a look at it. In fact we can take this offline from the ListServ and then post our findings at the end. Thanks. -----Original Message----- From: HEMPSTEAD, Tim [mailto:Tim.HEMPSTEAD@;READING.SEMA.SLB.COM] Sent: Friday, October 18, 2002 5:06 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Oracle 8.1.7 backup failure People, Anybody have any ideas on how we can fix the following. We have Oracle 8.1.7.0 backing up to TSM 3.7.4 using TDP for Oracle 2.1.0.9 under AIX 4.3.3 ML8. Backup fails with the error message as below after approximately 2hrs and errpt indicates that Oracle core dumps at this time as well. Thanks Tim The error obtained is as follows: RMAN-00571: =========================================================== RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS =============== RMAN-00571: =========================================================== RMAN-03015: error occurred in stored script backup_db_level_0 RMAN-03006: non-retryable error occurred during execution of command: backup RMAN-07004: unhandled exception during command execution on channel tape1 RMAN-10035: exception raised in RPC: ORA-00447: fatal error in background process RMAN-10031: ORA-19583 occurred during call to DBMS_BACKUP_RESTORE.BACKUPPIECECREATE -- Tim Hempstead, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Unix Technical Specialist SchlumbergerSema Regards, Neil Rasmussen Software Development TDP for Oracle [EMAIL PROTECTED]
