Hi all, first of all, aix 4.3.2.0 adsm 3.1 on NSM magstar 3575 with 3 3570 c drive tapeunits. attached to 1 wide scsi differential controller. The adresses already in use by the units and the mediachanger are 20-60-00-0,1, 20-60-00-0,0, 20-60-00-1,0 and 20-60-00-2,0 (total package is reffered to by ibm as IBM 3466 Network Storage Manager)
I want to add another tapeunit to the library, In the server there is another scsi adapter availeble. My idea is to break the chain of the one adapter to the 3 tapeunits and hook the third unit to the second scsi adapeter and chain it to the new one.(still with me?) Now i want to know if there are any known problems, issues to consider, things to do in advance etc. In other company's ive worked for hardware issues where always a big no, and everything had to be done by an IBM engineer.
