Yes doing this is definitely feasible.  It's one way to backup the DB,
but I would recommend sending a copy offsite in case of a disaster.

Can I create a device with devtype=FILE and point it to a mapped drive
(from another server) ?

This way I could execute the database full backub (from the old server
which does not have any space left) in this device and then restore it
on
the new server without having to fight the IBM library.
