These new high density tapes have a culling rate of about 1 out of 100. So,
this one may just be a bad one.

Subject: Exabyte M2 tapes - Logevity

I have a number of Exabye M2 tapes in which TSM (5.1) is reporting several
read errors (in one case as many as 15,000 errors). Also some tapes report
1 or 2 write errors. According to Exabyte the 8mm AME tape logevity is
rated around 20,000 passes. Is there a report within Tivoli, that will help
me determine the number of passes on a particular volume?
