Hi Steve, this sounds pretty much like a DB corruption, but I would be very hesitant to run the auditdb command without verification by TSM support. It might be dangerous and it can take a lot of time if you run it without specification of a special area. With an 11 GB DB it took about 36 hours, and I do not want to imagine how long it will take with our current 30 GB DB.
Both problems seem to be related with each other. Firstly when doing expiration I receive the following error message ANR0871E Cannot find file space name for node 86, file space 1073741823. How can I find out what the node and file space are (in english). I am thinking along the lines of a corruption somewhere in the database? If so I will do a "dsmserv auditdb fix=yes" command. Secondly, I have a tape volume that will not be reclaimed. When I do a q vol command on it, it says that the pct utilised is 0.0. When I try and q the contents of the tape it says that there is nothing on the tape. However I can not reclaim it, delete it or move data (it says there is no data to move). When I start reclamation the activity log says that it will be reclaimed but then nothing ever happens with it. This tape has been waiting to be reclaimed for longer than the reuse delay on the storage pool it is associated with, but that doesn't really matter as it is not even getting to that stage. Has anyone come across these problems before? Are they linked?
