I know of a reason. A bad TSM version (3.7.x) In observing my 3.7.x system with mountret=0, I have found during TAPEPOOL migration WITH Collocation that multiple clusters going to the same tape will cause the tape to be dismounted and then remounted. This also occurs with migration from diskpool to tapepool. In my opinion its a bug or B.A.D. (broken as designed) It wasn't this way with 3.1.2.20 !!! I am told its fixed back to the old behaviour in 3.7.4 + beyond. I have only found it working in 4.3.x Sigh. ... joe.f.
