Kelli,

the devices.scsi message is quite old and is not typically a problem (as
there is no such device to install). You should review your device specific
and AIX generic upper level drivers to ensure that they are all at the
latest levels.

However, the problem may be so simple as someone forgot to include the
library scsi cable in one of the SCSI busses. A tape drive and the library
could even have a SCSI id conflict that would also cause one (or both) of
the devices to stop functioning.

Subject: L700 Library

We are trying, as earlier email indicated, to run an STK L700 library with
TSM 4.1.50 running on AIX 4.3.3. The library originally shipped with
Seagate Viper 200 drives. We had the library configured via smitty/TSM
Devices and it was listed as available but the Seagate drives were not
because in preparation for IBM drives, we had installed Atape. However, we
had requested IBM Ultrium drives so the drives were replaced with the IBM's
and now, the drives are available to the system, but the library is not.
The error message received after running cfgmgr inidcates that the package
'devices.scsi' is not installed. Anybody ever see this? Any help would be
appreciated...

Thanks so much!
