Yes and yes.  You can run a batch file to perform the commands you need to
run or you can have the preschedulecmd run one for you.  If you use the
command file you need to be aware that when the command file completes, the
backup will start.  That means that everything that needs to happen should
have happened before you leave the command file.  If some of the stop
processing is asynchronous your application might not be down when the
backup starts so be careful.

The easiest way to add a preschedule command is in the web gui.  Add an
option (on the option line) -preschedulecmd=commandname.  You will probably
need to play with this to get it right, but have patience.

Hello All,

I need to stop a NT service before my scheduled backup starts.  Can I
accomplish this by using the PRESCHEDULECMD option.  If so let me know how
to do this.  Do I write a batch file and have the PRE command run that.
There are other ways to do this but I would like to keep everything in TSM.
Also when the backup is done I need the service to start back up.
