If you are just testing, just change the dsm.sys file on the client so that tcpserveraddress points to the new TSM server. Register the client on the new server, and let it back up to the new server until your testing is done. The old backups will stay intact so you can use them if you need them later.
If you want to actually move all the client's existing data to the new server, look at the EXPORT function. You can export the client from the old server and import it into the new server. ( You still need to change the tcpserveraddress on the client to point to the new server.) However, you can only do this if you have compatible media - i.e., you have some media on your OS/390 system that you can EXPORT to, and the new server can read that media. -----Original Message----- From: Hunley, Ike [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, November 07, 2001 10:57 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Move clients Hi everyone, We're running TSM 4.1.14 on OS/390 V2R9. I want to move a UNIX client from the current TSM server to a brand new TSM server for testing. Can anyone tell me how to accomplish this?
