I assume you are not using a disk staging pool.
The easiest way to accomplish a multithreaded
backup is to 1) launch 4 different backup jobs,
like say against 4 different file systems, or
2) set your resourceutil parameter to 10 which
will start as many streams as the client can
handle without worrying you worrying about
which stream backs up what data set.
