This is normal on WinNT 4.0 since the TSM Client starting with 4.x
requires
the W2K installer. The first reboot is really to install Windows2000
Installer. The second one depends upon what is running on your client.
The
nice thing is that after you get to 4.x you should not have to reboot
for
the installer again. As for the send reboot it really depends what is
running but make sure that you have stopped all TSM services on the
client
or it will require a reboot (or unsuccessful install). I have installed
about 15 clients with 4.2 and none of them required a reboot (upgrading
from
4.1.2 on NT4 and W2K)

Subject: TSM 4.2 Win32 client requires 2 reboots?

There were a few posts this week from people who are successfully using
the
4.2 client on NT.

I just tried installing it from the CD, and it forced me to reboot once
at
the beginning of the install, then finished the install and told me to
reboot a SECOND TIME!

Is this normal for 4.2 on WinNT?
Any idea what makes this necessary?
Any way around it!?!
