Hi Ruud,
reqs for tdp for ess for r/3 are:
* tsm server (recommended on backup server)
* tsm ba client on both servers (production and backup system)
* tsm api on both servers (production and backup system)
* tdp for r/3 on both servers (production and backup system)
* oracle server on production server & oracle executables on backup
server
* r/3 server on production server & r/3 executables on backup server
* aix 4.3.3
* ibm ess copy services cli code on both servers (production and backup
system) (must be conform w/ ess micro code)
* ess micro code level sc103 (march 2001)
* java runtime for aix on both servers (production and backup system)
* 2 rs/6k systems (one for the producion server, the other for backup
server)
* ess w/ flashcopy feature
* both servers (production and backup system) are connected to ess via
scsi or fc
* lan connection between ess and both servers
* high speed lan or san connection between the production system and tsm
server for rego-log backup and as a restore path
* nfs capabilities between production and backup server
you have to have tdps on both servers, but you're using only part of tdp
on each server. but you need only tdp licence for production system
(node name for both server is the same).

Subject: tdp for ess for R/3 or Oracle
L&g
reading the installation requirements, the following software must be
installed on both the production system and the backup system:
* TSM Backup/Archive Client
* TDP for R/3 or Oracle
* TSM API
* TSM Server
what if the backup system is (also) the TSM Server !!!!!!!!! must then
all the software mentioned above be installed on the backup system ? I
cannot see a reason that TSM Backup/Archive Client should be installed
!!! and why does it i.e. backup system need TDP for R/3 or Oracle ????
thanks.
