must be directed attached from a SCSI bus. IBM is letting us boot off the
network now too.
I do not know when it is scheduled but the plan is to be able to boot of the
ESS in the future.

Since a few people started a discussion on ESS, I would like to ask a
question and hope experienced folks can give me an answer.

We are planning a SAN and ESS has been targeted as the online stoage server.
My question is can RS6000 servers such as our F80 TSM server can boot from a
FC attached disk system like the ESS? Or the boot disk must be
direct-attached to a SCSI bus?

Thanks.
