Hello all,

I am in the process of planning the upgrade of customers ISP environment
(8.1.6 running on CEntOS 6.x). As the customer is mostly Debian based,
they would consider moving their server(s) to Ubuntu.
As far as I know - years ago IBM started to support the Ubuntu for the
server with disk-environments only.

Looking at the IBM page I can see the limitation is still there for
Linux on POWER LE, but not for x86_64

https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/overview-ibm-spectrum-protect-supported-operating-systems#Linux%20x86_64_0

Does that mean the server is supported on Ubuntu with tapes? Is there
anyone out there really using it?

Another question is - I feel a slight difference in "RHEL 7.6 and later
..." (like RHEL 7.7 is "later", therefore supported) and "Ubuntu 16.04.2
LTS and all updates ...." (like "16.04.3" - if there is any - is OK, but
not 20.04 LTS as it is not the same level) - is it meant this way or the
Ubuntu server 20.04 LTS (with updates) is supported as well?

Thanks

Harry Redl
