Eric, Really appreciate the response. I am very familiar with both blueprints and will definitely go back over them in detail. My recall was that they were understandably IBM-centric and didn't specify minimal/ideal IO and performance requirements.
We are almost exclusively a Dell/EMC shop for storage but IBM is an attractive possibility, especially in combination with Spectrum Storage Suite software. When we purchased the EMC Isilon there was more focus on being budget than performance minded. It quickly became obvious that poor performing storage made a great data protection solution seem terrible. For now my goal is to identify the best performing replacement(s).
